THE FASTER WE MOVE

ESMO Breast Conference Recap: MEDSIR's Highlights from Berlin

The annual ESMO Breast Cancer Congress was held in Berlin, Germany May 11 to 13, and the MEDSIR team was there to share one of our trials and connect with all the experts. This year we had the opportunity to share our PRIMED study design during the trial-in-progress session.

MEDSIR’s Onsite Experience at ESMO

The MEDSIR team was onsite, meeting with investigators and companies to help bring the best ideas in oncology to life. Conferences are an excellent opportunity for the team to discuss ongoing and future projects, all while learning the latest developments in treatment and detection.

PRIMED: Trial in Progress

The trial-in-progress session at ESMO Breast is always a great way to share MEDSIR breast cancer trials that are currently recruiting. This year, we were excited to present the design of our PRIMED study, which aims to mitigate side effects related to sacituzumab govitecan treatment. Specifically, the trial will utilize prophylactic administration of loperamide and granulocyte colony-stimulating factors (G-CSF) to prevent diarrhea and neutropenia in patients with locally advanced or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer who are being treated with sacituzumab govitecan.

In the near future, we also intend to allow the inclusion of patients with HR-positive/HER2-negative advanced breast cancer. Diarrhea and neutropenia are two of the most common side effects associated with this treatment and can lead to treatment delays, suppression, and discontinuation. The study opened to accrual in February 2023 and will enroll up to 50 patients across ten centers in Spain. Click here to download the poster and here for a lay language summary!

We loved participating in ESMO Breast and can’t wait to see everyone at ESMO in Madrid in a few months. Contact us for more information about our PRIMED study or if you want to set up a meeting at the ESMO congress in October!
