UNDERSTANDING
THE CHALLENGE
Lung cancer remains the second most frequently diagnosed cancer and the primary cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Despite major therapeutic advances, more than 60% of patients are still identified at advanced or metastatic stages, resulting in poor clinical outcomes and a 5-year survival rate of only 20–30%. In this challenging landscape, the identification of actionable molecular alterations and the development of innovative treatment strategies remain critical priorities.
Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs) have become increasingly important in advancing lung cancer care in recent years. By addressing unmet clinical needs, IITs create significant opportunities to improve treatment strategies and deliver meaningful benefits for patients.
MEDSIR, an independent international oncology research organization dedicated to accelerating innovation through investigator-driven clinical research, is uniquely positioned to support and lead these initiatives. Leveraging extensive scientific, operational, and strategic expertise, MEDSIR helps accelerate research, generate high-quality evidence, and bring new therapeutic opportunities closer to patients.

THE MENTORS
Meet the expert mentors leading the IST Forum in Geneva. Internationally recognised voices in lung cancer research, they will guide the workshop, share practical perspectives, and engage directly with attendees throughout the programme.
