MIRROR: EVALUATION OF AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SYSTEM IN THE EXTRACTION OF DATA FROM ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS COMPARED TO DATA OBTAINED THROUGH TRADITIONAL, MANUAL DATA CAPTURE IN CLINICAL TRIALS IN ONCOLOGY.
CLINICAL TRIAL DETAILS
THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THIS STUDY IS TO EVALUATE AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)-BASED TOOL THAT ENABLES THE CAPTURE AND STRUCTURING OF RELEVANT INFORMATION FROM ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS OF MORE THAN 100 PATIENTS DIAGNOSED WITH BREAST CANCER WHO PARTICIPATED IN 11 CLINICAL TRIALS SPONSORED BY MEDSIR. THE AI SYSTEM IS MAINLY BASED ON NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING TECHNIQUES AND WILL BE EVALUATED BY COMPARISON WITH THE MANUAL DATA CAPTURE METHOD FROM ELECTRONIC CASE REPORT FORMS. THIS MAY IMPROVE THE IDENTIFICATION OF POTENTIAL CANDIDATES TO PARTICIPATE IN CLINICAL TRIALS AND ACCELERATE DATA ACQUISITION DURING THE DEVELOPMENT OF CLINICAL TRIALS.
